School Parliament

Parliament allows students to have their say and be part of the school community.

School Parliament is run by Year 6 students, developing leadership and community skills. Parliament provides students with the opportunity to share ideas and concerns about the school. Each class elects two members to represent and convey their class's thoughts to the parliament.

The parliament then decides whether any ideas should go through to a higher authority.

Student Parliament Organisation

The Student Parliament provides an opportunity for the students of Georges Hall Public School to contribute to the organisation and operation of the school through gathering and presenting the ideas and opinions of the student body, involving themselves in the evaluation and planning processes of the school, and organising activities on behalf of the students. The Student Parliament comprises elected representatives from each class in Years 1 - 6.

14 prefects (year 6) become the government and 14 students from year 5 become the opposition (shadow ministers).  The prefects say the pledge on the presentation day and return the signed pledge to school.
